Summer Drink RoundupIt is hot, hot, HOT in the Bay Area this week! I was at the farmer’s market this morning and found myself sweating buckets before I finished buying my first bag of white nectarines! In times like this, I find myself mulling over which beverage I’d find most refreshing: Milk tea? Iced coffee? Fresh watermelon juice? Frappucino? Smoothies? Of course, ice cold water is probably the cheapest and healthiest, so I most frequently turn to my trusty Hydro Flask which keeps my water ice cold all day. (It’s my new water bottle winner.)

But it only temporarily satiates the desire for something chilly, sweet, and delicious slipping down my throat. So whenever I am able to carve out some time, I love to treat myself and Ben and our friends to one of these delectable beverages! They are each a favorite in a different way, so I highly encourage you to give them all a shot sometime! Now for the summer drink roundup:

For something tropical and fruity:

This is Ben’s favorite. I get giddy with excitement whenever the intoxicating perfume of ripe, fresh mangoes wafts at me at the produce market, knowing that I can surprise Ben with this tropical delight when he comes home. It never fails. This is one of my concoctions that makes him think I’m brilliant at food. Wifey win!!

To satiate your iced coffee fix:

This is Wendy’s favorite. I think there was a time when she mixed up a cup of this most mornings before work! Of course, shortly after I hacked the recipe, 85°C went ahead and opened up a location in Norcal (two, actually), but that doesn’t stop me from saving a few dollars to make it myself! One of my favorite iced coffee beverages of all time.

Because one milk tea a day is still not enough:

This is an SEO favorite. Apparently, a decent number of random people find their way over to my blog thanks to this recipe! Who knew non-dairy creamer could work it’s way into my heart (and belly…) so permanently, but there it is. I’m not proud of it, but man that stuff transforms sweetened tea into wonderful for me. It just brings me to a happy place. Thank goodness I can now make it myself for <$0.25/cup rather than blowing $3.75 on it every time!

Why spend $4 on a cup of watermelon juice, when you could buy a $4 watermelon at Costco and make 16 refreshing cups of your own?

This is my mom’s favorite. When I make it for her, her eyes light up with childlike anticipation and she gulps it down, followed with a satisfied, “Ahhhh!” It couldn’t be simpler. You just blend chilled watermelon chunks with a little bit of water, add honey to taste (if at all), and voila! A delightful summer refresher!

Iced tea– perfect for brunch, lunch, or dinner parties!

Delicious and Refreshing Caffeine-Free Iced Tea Recipe

Caffeine-Free Iced Tea sweetened with Apple Juice Recipe!

This is my favorite go-to iced tea to make for company. It’s perfectly sweetened without being too sweet, and I can still serve it at dinner because nobody has to worry about it keeping them up at night after drinking it. Not only is it refreshing in a way only iced tea can be, but I appreciate that it is sugar-free and caffeine-free. Those happen to be two things I’ve been trying to cut back on in the last year (with mixed success…), so this explains why I always stock up on the Celestial Seasoning’s teas (Raspberry and lemon) whenever they’re on sale at the market! Mm-mm. We’ll be serving up some of this for company on Sunday night, and I can’t wait!

I hope something here caught your eye, because all of them have caught my belly’s eye. I want them all. Now. Do yourself and your loved ones a treat and try out one of these refreshers today! Happy Summer, everybody!
